Designing for sustainable mobility.

We are pleased to have been working with our clients and in collaboration with other consultants to bring our practical design skills and sustainable mobility knowledge to a variety of diverse and often bespoke range of projects.

Technical and design support to identify on-street parking for shared micro-mobility across the London Borough of Brent for the council, including developing a methodology for assessing and ranking sites for prioritisation, and the design of over 200 sites in partnership with MP Smarter Travel. Horsham District Cycle Forum

Technical support for a development campaign, Horsham.

Isle of Wight Council

Design and technical support services for the development of active travel routes including greenway feasibility design, junction design, crossings design and design review. A project sheet can be downloaded HERE.

Manchester City Council

The development of a priority junction design framework in partnership with Robert Weetman with the aim of providing an inclusive approach to pedestrian-friendly design and better outcomes for cycling. The work includes new thinking on the subject that has needed new terms to conceptualise our approach. More information can be found on our project sheet which can be downloaded HERE.

MP Smarter Travel

Design support for a project to activate the London Borough of Brent’s Green & Healthy School Streets programme, also in collaboration with ONE-Environments. A project sheet can be downloaded HERE.

Technical support for the Lambeth Accessibility Working Group, comprising of local Disabled people advising on street projects at various stages of development for the London Borough of Lambeth. A project sheet can be downloaded HERE.

Design support for the London Borough of Brent’s Queen’s Park Healthy Neighbourhood project which is shaping a co-designed range of elements to reduce traffic, improve air quality and to provide better streets.

Technical and design support for the London Borough of Brent and the London Borough of Havering School Streets programmes including site prioritisation, feasibility and detailed design.

Oxfordshire Liveable Streets

Design review services to support the group’s response to a major planning application in the city with the emphasis on responding to local policy on “decide and provide” and enabling sustainable mobility.

Design and technical support for a series of local issues where walking, wheeling and cycling access and safety might be improved at side streets, crossing between side streets and larger junctions.

Mark is the trainer for PTRC’s one day training course for “on-street parking scheme design: essential knowledge for transport professionals” which takes a practical look at the subject and is aimed at both new and existing practitioners. Mark is also a speaker at PTRC’s 21-week evening lecture series.
